WiFi with R8C MCU
Starter Kit consisting of R8C/25 board and Companion Card with RS9110-N-11-22 module (UART Host Interface and integrated antenna).
This low power Wi-Fi Starter Kit (RS-R8C25-2200) is intended as a user-friendly introductory and demonstration tool for the fully integrated (on-board antenna and frequency reference and embedded TCP/IP stack) RS9110-N-11-22 module from Redpine’s Connect-io-n™ family of modules using the R8C/25 MCU board from Renesas Electronics. The board also provides a development platform for users who want to develop applications on the R8C/25 microcontroller and use the Wi-Fi module to connect to the network for data transfer. The Kit includes the API Library for controlling the Wi-Fi module, Sample Code, an easy-to-setup Demo Firmware/Application along with Renesas Electronics’ rich suite of development tools for coding and debugging – the High performance Embedded Workshop (HEW), R8C compiler and on-board debugger.
The RS9110-N-11-22 module comes mounted on a companion card for the R8C/25 Board. It is integrated with the R8C/25 over UART. The Starter Kit can be used to evaluate the features and performance of the module in addition to the R8C/25 and its peripherals by giving the user a simple platform on which code can be run in only minutes from opening the box. It can also prove to be an invaluable development tool for custom prototypes using the I/O expansion headers on the R8C/25 Board. The headers can be used to connect components like sensors and communicate the data from these sensors to a remote location using the RS9110-N-11-22 module.
Redpine Signals' Wi-Fi I/O Companion Card
Redpine Signals' Wi-Fi I/O Companion Card for the
RS-R8C25-2200 Ultra Low Power Wi-Fi Starter Kit offers a
flexible way of evaluating the features and performance of
the Connect-io-n family's RS9110-N-11-22 module
comprehensively. The module can connect to a Host system
through UART or SPI. The module included in the Starter Kit
uses UART.
Connect-io-n™ Module

The RS9110-N-11-22 module from Redpine's Connect-io-n™ family of products is a complete IEEE 802.11bgn based wireless device server that directly provides a wireless interface to any equipment with a serial or SPI interface for data transfer. It integrates a MAC, Baseband processor, RF transceiver with power amplifier, a frequency reference, and an antenna in hardware; and all WLAN protocol and configuration functionality, networking stack, and HTTP server in embedded firmware to make a fully self-contained 802.11n WLAN solution for a variety of applications.
