Systems - 802.11n VoWiFi Reference Design
Redpine’s RS9110-N-11-41 is a complete IEEE 802.11bgn VoWiFi phone reference design based on its RS9110-N-11-02 - industry’s leading ultra low power 802.11n module, and SiTel Semiconductor's SC14450 system- on-chip. The RS9110-N-11-02 is a complete IEEE 802.11bgn device, which is designed for mobile and handheld consumer applications, and it comes with an integrated MAC, baseband processor, RF transceiver and power amplifier. The SC14450 is a fully integrated DECT and VoIP device, featuring a compact RISC microcontroller for general processing, including power management and MMI functionality, and it is supplemented by two user-programmable Gen2DSPs for voice CODECs and audio processing, enabling color LCD Man Machine Interfaces (MMIs), text-to-speech, voice enhancement, animated JPEGs, Hi-Fi audio and advanced ring tones.
The RS9110-N-11-41 uClinux based VoWiFi reference design conforms to 802.11n draft 2.0, and it supports advanced power saving techniques including WMM-PS, packet classification and voice prioritization through 802.11e and WMM, advanced security through standard based WEP 64/128, WPA, and WPA2.
