Wi-Fi RTLS Tag
Wi-Fi based Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) comprise a combination of active tags or client devices, access points, and location applications that together provide a periodically updated estimation of the location of the client devices within a known environment. While RTLS has involved the use of other RF technologies, these systems are increasingly built using standard Wi-Fi connectivity options. The RS9110-N-11-51 is a fully integrated tag solution that provides for the support of multiple location system applications. For example, location determination could use knowledge of received signal strength (RSSI) of beacons or other signals from access points at the client, time of arrival of such signals, or identity of the beacons. The system may also require periodic transmission of predetermined signals from the tag or client device, or the computation of certain metrics. The Redpine module provides support for these requirements and enables the integration of the tag in a variety of RTLS environments. In addition the RS-9110-N-11-51 also provides an ultra low power operation cycle and interfaces to a wide selection of sensors.
